This Is Where Every Season Starts

League play ball hockey is KBHA's standard offering — the season every registered player is part of, from first floor time to the last whistle.

What Recreational Means

Every player registered with KBHA plays in the league play season, regardless of skill level or experience. Teams are built to be balanced and fun, with weekly games and practices that focus on skill development, sportsmanship, and a love of the game. There's no tryout to make a recreational team — everyone who registers gets a spot.

Looking for More?

Players who want an extra challenge can try out for the competitive stream partway through the season, usually around early-May. Recreational stays the foundation everyone plays in all season, whether or not they make a competitive team.

Provincial Championships

The BC Ball Hockey Provincial Championships are the premier milestone for youth players in our program. Each season, the top teams from leagues across British Columbia earn the opportunity to compete for a provincial title in their age division.

At KBHA, starting in 2027, league champions in each division will have the opportunity to represent Kamloops at provincials — something we're excited to be offering for the first time. Where there is enough player interest and commitment, we will organize and send a team. Like the WCC, attending provincials requires a level of dedication beyond the regular season, including potential additional practices and travel, but it is one of the most rewarding experiences youth ball hockey has to offer.

Provincials are open to players in U12 and above, meaning competitive opportunities at the provincial level can start at a young age for players in our program.
