Week 1 Recap – 2026 KBHA Season

The ball has dropped and the 2026 Kamloops Ball Hockey Association season is officially underway! Week one brought incredible energy to MacArthur Island and Memorial Arena, and one thing is clear right away: this year is big. Across every level of play, from our youngest players in the youth divisions all the way up to the adult competitive league, the KBHA has seen tremendous growth this season. We're thrilled to welcome so many new and returning players, families, and fans to the floor.

A special thank you to all the parents for your patience as we work through the early-season logistics that come with running a growing program. Your support makes everything possible, and we truly couldn't do this without you.

Now, let's get into the action!

Youth Leagues

Monday, April 13 – U12

The youth season opened Monday with a pair of U12 games. On the Olympic rink, the Vac Truck Mafia started the season strong with a 10–6 win over the McKenzie & Associates Knights. Over on the NHL rink, the Tirecraft Studs dominated the City Centre Auto Kings 10–2.

Tuesday, April 14 – U16

Tuesday evening brought U16 action, with the Buds Bins Capitals picking up a convincing 6–1 victory over the Sunny Green Bandits to open their season in style.

Wednesday, April 15 – U10

The U10 division hit the floor Wednesday, and they did not disappoint. The SF Electric Bolts rolled past the Bath Pro Ducks 10–1 on the Olympic rink at MacArthur Island, while over at Memorial Arena, the Painting Pros Flyers topped the Twin Rivers Drywall Whalers 10–4. Big goals, big smiles, that's what it's all about at U10.

Adult Competitive League

Monday, April 13

The competitive season kicked off Monday night with a pair of games on the NHL rink at MacArthur Island.

In the D/B division, the Rivershore Kings made a statement in their opener, handing the Northstars a convincing 15–0 result. The Kings looked sharp and hungry from the drop.

In the D/C division, the Grizzlies edged out District 5 with a 10–6 win in what was the more competitive of the two Monday matchups.

Tuesday, April 14

Tuesday brought three more competitive games across both rinks.

On the Olympic surface, the Flyers topped the Roosters 3–1 in a tight D division contest, while the Service Plus Trashers got past the Ball Hogs 3–1 in another closely fought game.

Over on the NHL rink, the Bohnefide Blackjacks put on a dominant A/B division performance, rolling past the Cool Connection Nordiques 10–3.

Adult Co-Ed Recreation League

Monday, April 13

The Co-Ed Rec league opened with drama right away. In Rec B on the Olympic rink, the Hornets cruised past the Devils 9–2 in the early game. The nightcap was a nailbiter, with the Wolves edging the Yeti 3–2 in a shootout to grab two early points.

Tuesday, April 14

Tuesday's Rec action delivered more close games. The Ricalton Law Honey Badgers defeated the Tigers 4–3 in a shootout in Rec B, while in Rec A, the Service Plus Trashers handled the Ball Hogs 3–1.

Wednesday, April 15

Wednesday wrapped up the first week with a full Co-Ed slate. In Rec A, BDH edged the Blues 6–5 in a high-scoring battle. In Rec B, the Hornets had another big night, shutting out the Yeti 9–0, while the Cougars topped the Kraken in a tight 3–2 finish.
